Project Kells at 60 Dawson Street, Dublin, is a significant mixed-use development featuring high-end office and retail spaces. The construction includes seven above-ground floors and a double basement, totaling approximately 24,500 square meters. The project, spanning from 2019 to 2023, involved extensive engineering due to its prime location, which is adjacent to Dublin’s Luas light rail system.
The development posed complex challenges, such as ensuring minimal disruption to surrounding infrastructure and managing excavation depths of 9.5 meters. It required a robust secant pile wall supported by advanced anchoring and propping systems to safeguard the nearby Luas tracks and existing structures. Ashview were involved from Concept design stage right through Construction to handover. The project also had to contend with the Covid19 outbreak.
