Classification of Risk Management

Risk can be classified in relation to their place of action, that is, the organisational level at which the risk will have most impact/effect ⚠️

Business Risks
Those risks that effect the operation of a business once the project is completed – in other words the end user/client

Project Risks
Those risks that are contained within the project, those that could effect the business or commercial goal that the project was set up to deliver – financial risk for the client

Environmental Risks
Those risks that are external to the project but could effect the delivery of the project

Then there’s external risks, these risks are beyond the immediate project boundary but can have a major impact on its delivery, this may not just be a ‘ force majeure’ event, it could be a change in regulations, standards or government policy?
